Utilizing a responsive pedal-assist system paired with a user-friendly twist throttle and multiple levels of PAS, the motor delivers a natural power boost that optimizes efficiency. By selecting your desired assist level, you can perfectly balance your physical effort with the motor's output, giving you the ability to effortlessly glide up inclines or rely completely on the throttle for a sweat-free ride.

What Class Rating does the Jupiter Riptide have and why should I care?

The Riptide is a Class II electric bike, offering the perfect balance of throttle convenience and pedal-assist efficiency. 

Understanding the Class Ratings: Why Versatility Matters

Class I (Pedal Assist Only): The motor provides assistance only when you are pedaling and ceases to provide help once you reach 20 MPH.

Class II (Throttle & Pedal Assist): This is the setting for the Riptide. The bike includes a throttle that can propel you up to 20 MPH without any pedaling required, perfect for effortless cruising or getting a quick boost from a standstill.

Class III (High Speed): Unlocks higher speeds up to 28 MPH via pedal assist, typically found on commuter-specific models. Understanding local and state ebike regulations is essential because laws vary significantly regarding where different class types are permitted, and staying informed ensures you can enjoy your Class II freedom while remaining legally compliant and safe on every path and road.

While the Riptide is strictly a Class II, its high-contrast LED screen allows you to cycle through 3 distinct Ride Modes:

1. Eco Mode: Provides a gentle electric push to maximize your battery life and give you the longest possible range.

2. Normal Mode: Balances speed and battery efficiency perfectly for everyday cruising and standard commuting.

3. Sport Mode: Gives you the full peppiness of the 350W motor (500W peak) for climbing hills or hitting that top speed of 20 MPH quickly.

How to switch between them:

You change these modes seamlessly using the dedicated mode buttons on the handlebar control pad right next to your left grip. Pressing the buttons lets you cycle through Eco, Normal, and Sport on the fly while riding, and your current mode is clearly displayed right on the digital screen.

The Jupiter Riptide is powered by a high-performance 36V 7.8Ah hidden battery pack built with premium, reliable lithium-ion cells.
