  The D5 2.0 ST is propelled by a robust 48V, 750W geared hub motor that serves up a massive 90 Nm of torque. This heavy-duty power configuration means you can effortlessly flatten steep inclines, accelerate smoothly from a dead stop, and handle any trail with ease. Unlike standard e-bikes, the D5 2.0 utilizes an advanced dual-sensor system (combining both torque and cadence sensors) paired with a Smart Auto Pedal Assistant and 5 levels of PAS. By measuring both how fast and how hard you are pedaling, the motor delivers a remarkably natural, lag-free power boost that optimizes efficiency—yielding an impressive 70-mile pedal-assist range or a 40-mile pure-throttle range using the ergonomic thumb throttle.

  Out of the box, the bike is programmed with a default maximum speed of 20 MPH, but it can be easily adjusted to achieve a top speed of 28 MPH. This flexibility allows you to seamlessly configure the electronics to match your local riding laws, giving you the ability to switch the bike between Class I, Class II, or Class III operational modes.

• What Class Rating does the D5 2.0 ST have and why should I care?  This premium eBike offers the ultimate flexibility, capable of switching between Class I, Class II, and Class III modes.  While it ships as a Class II, you can easily unlock its full potential through the colorful LED control panel.
  • Understanding the Class Ratings:  Why Versatility Matters:
    • Class I (Pedal Assist Only):  The motor provides assistance only when you are pedaling and ceases to provide help once you reach 20 MPH. This mode is often required for specific mountain trails or multi-use paths that prohibit throttles.
    • Class II (Throttle & Pedal Assist):  This is the "out of the box" setting.  The bike includes a throttle that can propel you up to 20 MPH without any pedaling required, perfect for effortless cruising or getting a boost from a standstill.  
    • Class II (High Speed):  This unlocks the eBike's top speed of 28 MPH via pedal assist.  It is the ideal setting for commuters who need to keep pace with city traffic and cover long distances quickly.
    • Understanding local and state ebike regulations is essential because laws vary significantly regarding where different class types are permitted, and staying informed ensures you can enjoy the full range of "Class I/Class II/Class III freedom" while remaining legally compliant and safe on every road and trail. 
• Battery and Charger:  The D5 2.0 ST is powered by a high-performance 48V 15Ah battery pack built with premium, automotive-grade Samsung or LG 21700 cells. Engineered for extreme safety, reliability, and longevity, the entire battery pack is officially UL 2271 certified, while the individual cells carry the gold-standard UL 2580 safety certification. The housing features a robust IPX6 waterproof rating, providing heavy-duty protection against high-pressure water streams and severe weather. To minimize your downtime between rides, the system includes a powerful 48V 3.0A fast charger, allowing you to quickly replenish the high-capacity cells and get back out on your next trek with minimal waiting.
• Shimano 8-Speed Gears: The D5 2.0 ST features a high-performance Shimano 8-speed drivetrain engineered for smooth, reliable shifting across varied terrains. The mechanical system centers around a premium 52T Narrow-Wide chainring mounted to a durable 170mm aluminum alloy crankset. The specialized narrow-wide tooth profile dramatically improves chain retention, virtually eliminating dropped chains on rough trails. • 26" x 4" Fat Tires:  The D5 2.0 ST comes factory-equipped with premium Maxxis Minion FBF (Front) and FBR (Rear) 26" x 4.0" fat tires.   • What does "tubeless-ready" mean?  Out of the box from the factory, it will arrive with a standard inner tube installed inside the tire. "Tubeless-ready" means the tire casing and the wheel rim are designed with a precise, airtight bead lock so that, if you choose to, you can switch to tubeless.

• Is this a folding eBike?  No.  The D5 2.0 ST does NOT fold.
